Business
DCM Shriram Fine Chemicals Limited is an India-based specialty chemical manufacturing company that develops, produces, and markets fine chemical intermediates, active pharmaceutical ingredient precursors, and organic specialty compounds. The company operates primarily through its Daurala Organics business unit, utilizing proprietary core chemical competencies in photochlorination, cyanation, optical isomer separation, and catalytic reactions. Its product portfolio is segmented into pharmaceutical intermediates, including D(-) phenyl glycine and its derivatives, DL-phenyl glycine, D(-) para-hydroxy phenyl glycine, DL-2-(2-chlorophenyl) glycine, benzyl cyanide, and specialty side-chains for semi-synthetic antibiotics; aromatic and organic intermediates, including benzaldehyde, ortho-chlorobenzaldehyde, benzyl alcohol, benzyl chloride, benzal chloride, and benzotrichloride; and industrial chemical derivatives, including phenylacetic acid, phenylacetic acid salts, and sodium phenoxyacetate. The company serves diverse end markets, including the pharmaceutical, agrochemical, fragrance, flavor, cosmetics, dye, pigment, and optical brightening industries across domestic Indian markets and international destinations across Asia, Europe, and North America. DCM Shriram Fine Chemicals Limited traces its operational origins to the early 1970s as the fine chemicals division of DCM Shriram Industries Limited, was incorporated as a distinct corporate entity in 2021, and is headquartered in New Delhi, India, with primary manufacturing operations located in Daurala, Meerut district, Uttar Pradesh. In recent strategic developments, the company was established as an independent, standalone entity following the implementation of a court-approved Composite Scheme of Arrangement that demerged the fine chemical business from DCM Shriram Industries Limited in December 2025, leading to the independent public listing of its equity shares on the National Stock Exchange of India and the BSE in February 2026 under the ticker DSFCL. Following its listing, the company has focused operations on expanding its continuous photochlorination and cyanation production capacities, enhancing its high-purity optical isomer synthesis infrastructure, and expanding contract development and custom manufacturing partnerships with global life sciences corporations.
