Business
Otto Energy Limited engages in the exploration, development, production, and sale of oil and gas, with a primary focus on the Gulf of Mexico region in North America. The company holds a portfolio of production, exploration, and appraisal assets, including oil production from its South Marsh Island 71 (SM 71) field in shallow offshore waters, gas and condensate output from the Lightning discovery onshore in Matagorda County, Texas, and interests in projects such as South Timbalier 48, Green Canyon, and other Gulf of Mexico prospects; it operates through geographical segments encompassing the Gulf of Mexico and other areas. Founded in 2004 and headquartered at 70 Hindmarsh Square in Adelaide, South Australia, Otto Energy maintains subsidiaries including Otto Energy (USA) Inc., Otto Energy (Louisiana) LLC, and Otto Energy (Patrick Henry) LLC to support its upstream activities targeting crude oil, natural gas, and related hydrocarbons for industrial and energy markets. In its fiscal year ended June 30, 2025, the company reported net operating revenue of US$15.6 million, a net profit after tax of US$0.7 million, and a debt-free position with US$14.9 million in cash, reflecting efforts to maximize asset revenue amid lower crude prices and production declines; recent leadership changes include the appointment of Chris Dorros as chief executive officer, alongside prior acting CEO Philip Trajanovich, as part of strategic streamlining and cost reduction initiatives.
