Business
Xtrackers MSCI Latin America Pacific Alliance ETF (PACA) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to correspond to the performance of the MSCI Latin America Pacific Alliance Capped Index before fees and expenses. The fund invests at least 80% of its total assets in component securities of the underlying index, which provides exposure to equity securities of issuers from Latin American member states of the Pacific Alliance—currently Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru—as well as securities headquartered and conducting the majority of operations in those countries; the index is market-cap weighted with diversification rules limiting any single company to 25% and issuers above 5% to no more than 50% collectively. Launched in October 2018 and sponsored by DWS Group through its Xtrackers passive investment platform headquartered in Germany, PACA targets investors seeking regional equity exposure outside broader Latin American benchmarks that include Brazil, with a net expense ratio of 0.45% and assets under management around $1.75 million as of late 2025. Geographically, holdings are concentrated in Mexico (approximately 53.7%) and Chile (20.6%), spanning sectors such as financials, materials, and consumer staples across large- and mid-cap issuers. In recent developments, DWS has expanded the Xtrackers brand with new U.S.-listed thematic ETFs in areas like green infrastructure, semiconductors, cybersecurity (launched July 2023), and artificial intelligence (August 2024), alongside European listings such as on Nasdaq Stockholm (August 2025) and factor-enhanced strategies (November 2025), reflecting ongoing product innovation and global distribution growth amid a platform AuM exceeding €148 billion. No specific acquisitions, partnerships, or strategic shifts directly affecting PACA have been reported in the last 1-2 years.
