- Panatlântica S.A. engages in the production, trade, import, export and processing of steel and other metals primarily in Brazil. The company offers steel coils and sheets, including hot-rolled, cold-rolled, zinc-coated, galvalume, pre-painted and pickled coils and sheets; LCG thick plates; steel strips comprising hot-rolled, cold-rolled, zinc-plated, galvalume, pre-painted and pickled materials; delaminated strips; special profiles and profiles; and tiles and accessories such as trapezoidal and corrugated roofing surfaces. It also provides steel processing services, including cross-section slitting with rotating shears to form coils and longitudinal cut-to-length services to produce flat sheets.
Founded in 1952 and headquartered in Gravataí, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, Panatlântica S.A. operates an industrial plant in Glorinha and targets domestic markets in construction, manufacturing and related sectors. The company, formerly known as Aços Laminados Panatlântica S.A., changed its name in April 1987 and went public in 2005. It functions as a subsidiary of LP Aços Comércio e Participações Ltda., which holds a majority 65-67% stake.
In January 2024, Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional completed the acquisition of an additional 18.61% stake in Panatlântica for R$150 million from Talavera Administração e Participação Ltda., increasing its ownership to 29.9-31.25% and establishing a renewed 10-year exclusive steel supply agreement alongside a shareholders' agreement with LP Aços. This transaction followed a nine-month reorganization that consolidated control under Raul Maselli via LP Aços after the exit of prior minority partners, bolstering Panatlântica's position in steel distribution. The deal supports strategic expansion in the steel value chain amid ongoing market presence with a market capitalization around R$800 million.
