Business
Principal Exchange-Traded Funds—Principal Equity Premium Income ETF is an actively managed exchange-traded fund that seeks current income and, secondarily, long-term capital appreciation. Trading under the ticker PCOV, the fund invests primarily in dividend-paying, large- and mid-capitalization value-oriented equity securities, principally U.S.-listed companies, and employs a covered-call options strategy to generate option-premium income. Its portfolio may include common stocks across financial services, technology, healthcare, industrials, consumer cyclical, energy, consumer defensive, materials, real estate, communication services and utilities sectors; representative holdings have included Apple Inc., Microsoft Corp., JPMorgan Chase & Co., Morgan Stanley, D.R. Horton Inc., Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. ADR, Costco Wholesale Corp., Merck & Co. Inc. and Citigroup Inc. The fund targets income-oriented investors, including investors seeking periodic cash distributions while retaining exposure to equity markets; its covered-call overlay may limit participation in equity-market appreciation in exchange for premium income. Principal Global Investors LLC serves as investment manager, and the fund is offered through the Principal Exchange-Traded Funds trust, which is affiliated with Principal Financial Group Inc., a Des Moines, Iowa-headquartered financial-services group founded in 1879. The ETF operates in the U.S. exchange-traded-fund market and is listed on Cboe under the PCOV symbol. Principal Exchange-Traded Funds launched PCOV in August 2026 as a strategic expansion of Principal Asset Management’s ETF offering into the equity-premium-income category. At launch, the fund commenced trading at approximately $25 per share, adopted a 0.34% net expense ratio and introduced a monthly-income-oriented equity and options strategy; as a newly launched fund, it had not yet completed a full distribution cycle as of September 2026.
