The company offers Planet Monitoring for continuous planetary variables and change detection; Planet Tasking for on-demand high-resolution imaging via SkySat and Pelican satellites; Planet Fusion for combining multi-source data into analytics feeds; hyperspectral imaging through Tanager satellites delivering full-spectrum visible and shortwave infrared data for methane detection and material identification; archive access to historical imagery; application programming interfaces; basemaps; and AI-powered insights including vessel detection, forest carbon monitoring, and maritime domain awareness. Planet operates worldwide, serving commercial enterprises, government agencies, and research institutions from its headquarters in San Francisco, California, where it was founded in 2010.
