- Ponni Sugars (Erode) Limited manufactures sugar and its byproducts from sugarcane; provides co-generation of power; supplies bagasse and molasses to associated companies including Seshasayee Paper and Boards Ltd; and operates a 50 TCD jaggery manufacturing unit acquired from Canara Bank under SARFAESI Act. The company runs a sugar factory in Erode, Tamil Nadu, with a crushing capacity of 3,500 tonnes of sugarcane per day and power generation capacity of 19 MW through multi-fuel boilers. Incorporated in 1996 as an offspring of Ponni Sugars and Chemicals Ltd following a demerger sanctioned by the High Court of Madras in 2001, it maintains its headquarters at Esvin House, 13 Rajiv Gandhi Salai, Perungudi, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Ponni Sugars caters to domestic and international markets for its sugar products while supporting local sugarcane farmers through innovative practices such as extended crushing seasons and irrigation schemes. In February 2025, the company successfully bid Rs 4.6 crore to acquire the jaggery unit near Arachalur in Erode district for product diversification; it recently approved unaudited financial results for the quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2025, reporting net sales growth; and continues a long-term bagasse supply arrangement with Seshasayee Paper and Boards Ltd under a new material MoU subject to postal ballot.
