- Probe Gold Inc. is a Canadian precious metals exploration company focused on the acquisition, exploration and development of gold properties primarily in Québec. The company holds 100% interest in its flagship multimillion-ounce Novador Gold Project, comprising the Monique, Pascalis and Courvan deposits spanning 436 square kilometres in the Val-d'Or mining camp; an early-stage Detour Quebec project with approximately 90 kilometres of strike length contiguous to Agnico Eagle's Detour Lake mine; the 100%-owned Stella property and Bermont claims in the Val-d'Or region; and additional interests including the Casa Cameron project with Casagosic, Sinclair-Bruneau and Florence properties northwest of Val-d'Or as well as three properties in northern Ontario's James Bay Lowlands area, Black Creek, Tamarack-McFauld's Lake and Victory. Probe controls roughly 1,798 square kilometres of highly prospective exploration ground across Québec's prolific gold belts and targets junior miners, institutional investors and strategic partners in the precious metals sector. Founded in 2015 and headquartered at 56 Temperance Street in Toronto, Ontario, the company was formerly known as Probe Metals Inc. prior to its name change in January 2023 and maintains a strong treasury with no debt, bolstered by a 10% strategic investment from Eldorado Gold Corporation. In October 2025, Probe entered a definitive agreement for its acquisition by Fresnillo plc, the world's largest primary silver producer, in an all-cash transaction valued at C$780 million or C$3.65 per share, representing a 39% premium to the prior closing price; the deal, supported by unanimous board recommendation and voting agreements from directors, officers and Eldorado covering 12% of shares, awaits shareholder and court approvals with an expected close in the first quarter of 2026.
