Business
Fecto Cement Limited is a Pakistan-based building materials company primarily engaged in the manufacturing, marketing, and sale of cement, clinker, and industrial packaging products. Founded in 1981 and headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan, the company operates as a member of the Fecto Group of Industries and is publicly listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange under the ticker FECTC. Fecto Cement produces and distributes a systematic portfolio of construction materials and packaging solutions, including Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) engineered for residential, commercial, and heavy infrastructure developments; intermediate clinker for bulk industrial trade; and multiwall kraft paper sacks manufactured through an integrated packaging division with an annual output capacity of approximately 22 million bags to fulfill internal dispatch needs and commercial packaging orders. The company conducts its manufacturing operations through a centralized production facility situated in Sangjani near Islamabad, maintaining an annual cement production capacity of approximately one million metric tons. Its commercial operations target construction contractors, retail builders, and industrial clients across northern Pakistan—including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir—supplemented by cross-border export shipments into Afghanistan. In recent operational developments, Fecto Cement has implemented major strategic initiatives centered on energy cost optimization, thermal efficiency, and plant modernization. The company is executing an expansion of its captive renewable energy portfolio by initiating the installation of an additional 5 MW solar power plant to double its existing 5 MW solar installation to a cumulative 10 MW, while scaling up its Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) system output to supply between 35% and 39% of total plant electricity requirements. Furthermore, the company launched a PKR 400 million Flash Furnace Pyro upgrade program to enhance fuel flexibility and maximize the integration of lower-cost coal sources, alongside stabilizing full-scale plant operations at Sangjani following regulatory and judicial clearance from the Islamabad High Court.
