Business
FT Vest Nasdaq-100 Conservative Buffer ETF - October (QCOC) is an actively managed exchange-traded fund series of First Trust Exchange-Traded Fund VIII, designed to seek returns linked to the price performance of the Invesco QQQ Trust, Series 1, while providing a predefined buffer against the first 20% of losses and capping upside gains for each annual target outcome period. The fund is managed by First Trust Advisors L.P. and sub-advised by Vest Financial LLC; it lists and principally trades on Cboe BZX, carries a 0.90% annual management fee, and was launched in 2024 with headquarters in Wheaton, Illinois, United States. Its principal strategy uses FLEX Options on QQQ to create a target outcome profile for investors who buy at the start of the period and hold through the end, with the current period running from October 20, 2025 through October 16, 2026 and a gross upside cap of 12.41% and buffer of 20.00%, or 11.51% and 19.10% net of fund fees. The fund’s holdings are concentrated and currently consist mainly of FLEX Option positions referencing QQQ plus cash, with holdings subject to change and reflecting the most recent reset for the target outcome period. Recent fund updates include a September 8, 2026 Form 497 filing and refreshed website disclosures on the next target outcome period and cap range, while the fund’s current holdings data and marketing materials were updated as of mid-September 2026. The fund targets investors seeking Nasdaq-100-linked exposure with moderated downside risk over a defined one-year horizon, but it remains subject to market, option, cap-change, and buffered-loss risks, and outcomes may differ materially for investors who enter or exit outside the target period.
