The company operates through pharmaceutical production and sales and biodefense activities. Its biodefense business develops and supplies autoinjector-based medical countermeasures for emergency use against chemical-warfare and atomic, biological and chemical threats, and advances products addressing trauma, pain and severe hemorrhage. Rafa has received funding support of up to USD 186 million from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for development of a tranexamic-acid injection intended to treat severe traumatic hemorrhaging. In June 2026, the company secured a USD 46 million atropine supply agreement with the U.S. Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response, expanding its medical-countermeasure operations. In March 2025, Rafa launched Hedrin Wash shampoo, a five-minute hair-wash product designed to eliminate head lice and remove lice eggs. In July 2026, Rafa completed a Tel Aviv Stock Exchange offering of 34.78 million ordinary shares and attached warrants, raising approximately NIS 549.9 million; the transaction included sales by controlling shareholder FIMI Opportunity Funds, which acquired control of Rafa from the Sackler family in 2020.
