Business
Robust Hotels Limited (RHL.BO) operates as a hospitality company primarily engaged in managing and owning the Hyatt Regency Chennai, a five-star deluxe business hotel in Chennai, India. The property features approximately 325 luxury rooms including 28 suites; multiple dining outlets such as Spice Haat offering Indian and international cuisine, Focaccia for Italian fare, Stix for Sichuan Chinese specialties, Yakiniku for Japanese dining, and Biscotti for pastries, chocolates, and delicatessen; a swimming pool; spa and concierge services; fitness center; business center; banquet halls; salon; 24-hour in-room dining; and electric vehicle charging stations. The company targets business and leisure travelers, serving domestic and international clientele through its modern facilities located near Chennai International Airport and metro stations. Incorporated on January 19, 2007, as Robust Hotels Private Limited and converted to a public limited company with the name change to Robust Hotels Limited effective October 11, 2022, the company is headquartered at No. 365, Anna Salai, Teynampet, Chennai 600018, India. It forms part of the Saraf Group, which traces its hospitality roots to 1977 with the Yak & Yeti hotel in Nepal and subsequent developments like Hyatt Regency New Delhi. Robust Hotels employs around 268 to 385 staff and focuses exclusively on the Indian market, with all operations centered in Chennai. In recent years, the company underwent a significant Scheme of Arrangement, Demerger, and Reduction of Capital with Asian Hotels (East) Limited, which became effective on September 21, 2022, enabling its independent public listing and operational focus on the Hyatt Regency Chennai. This demerger marked a major strategic shift from its prior private status and affiliate relationships, positioning it for growth in the premium hotel segment amid Chennai's business travel recovery. No further major acquisitions, partnerships, funding rounds, or new property launches have been reported in 2024 or 2025.
