Business
Rosenbauer International AG is a leading global manufacturer and provider of firefighting vehicles, equipment, and integrated safety solutions, focusing on public, industrial, and airport fire services as well as preventive fire protection. The company designs, develops, and produces fire apparatus such as municipal fire engines, aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) vehicles, and specialized industrial and civil protection units; supplies firefighting equipment, including pumps, hoses, nozzles, and PPE; delivers vehicle components, electronic control systems, and telematics-enabled solutions; and offers after-sales services, spare parts, fleet management, and training services. Rosenbauer also provides software and digital solutions for incident command, fleet optimization, and cross-border communications, supported by a global network of sales, service, and training centers. Founded in 1866 and headquartered in Leonding near Linz, Austria, Rosenbauer operates a diversified product portfolio across multiple geographic regions, with manufacturing and assembly facilities in Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East. Its principal business segments encompass vehicle production (municipal, civil defense, industrial, and ARFF), firefighting systems (water pumps, foam systems, and extinguishing technologies), firefighting equipment and PPE, software and digital services (telecommunications and data analytics for incident management and asset protection), and after-sales services (maintenance, spare parts, and training). The company maintains a broad global footprint with sales and service networks in more than 100 countries, serving national fire services, government agencies, airports, industrial clients, and private emergency services. Latest major changes include strategic partnerships and expansions to accelerate regional growth, regional order momentum in 2025–2026, continued product launches and upgrades in ARFF and municipal vehicle lines, and ongoing efforts to optimize operating costs and debt levels following capital measures earlier in the decade. In 2025 Rosenbauer reported continued revenue growth supported by higher vehicle deliveries, increasing demand for equipment and services, and the deployment of digital solutions such as RDS Connect to improve cross-border communications and fleet interoperability. The group also advances its regional expansion, including flagship deployments of its Panther family and other high-capacity firefighting platforms, and pursues efficiency programs to strengthen profitability amid a favorable but competitive market environment. Industry and business segments: firefighting vehicles and equipment; ARFF and municipal fire apparatus; firefighting systems and discipline-specific gear; protective equipment and PPE; digital solutions and telematics; after-sales service and spare parts; regional and international sales and service networks. Target markets include national and municipal fire departments, airports, industrial facilities, and private emergency response organizations across Europe, North America, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and Africa. Subsidiaries and holding structures align under Rosenbauer International AG with regional subsidiaries and distribution partners enabling global reach. The company continues to emphasize safety leadership, innovation, and value-for-money offerings as core differentiators in its competitive landscape.
