The company offers men's, women's, children's and gender-neutral apparel including sweatshirts, activewear, dresses, pants, leggings, shorts and outerwear; leather bags, small leather goods and belts; athletic footwear and casual shoes; and accessories such as hats and socks through its Direct-to-Consumer segment via over 100 corporate retail stores, e-commerce at www.roots.com and two U.S. locations, as well as its Partners and Other segment encompassing wholesale to international partners, licensees, Tmall.com storefront in China and custom products for business clients. Founded in 1973 and headquartered at 1400 Castlefield Avenue in Toronto, Ontario, Roots operates in the consumer discretionary apparel retail industry with approximately 1,788 employees and focuses on outdoor-lifestyle products blending comfort and style. In fiscal 2025, the company reported total sales growth including 6.3% to $50.8 million in Q2 driven by direct-to-consumer strength, improved sourcing, disciplined markdowns via AI-driven inventory tools and a shift to higher-margin wholesale; it optimized its store fleet by closing five locations, renovating key sites and elevating marketing spend on brand ambassadors and events while advancing omnichannel strategies under President and CEO Meghan Roach.
