Business
Invesco S&P 500 Pure Value ETF (RPV) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance of the S&P 500 Pure Value Index by investing at least 90% of its total assets in securities comprising the index. The index identifies and factor-weights stocks from the S&P 500 exhibiting the strongest value characteristics, measured by book value-to-price, earnings-to-price, and sales-to-price ratios after ranking securities based on the ratio of growth scores to value scores; deep value stocks receive proportionally greater weights, with the fund and index rebalanced annually. RPV, with approximately $1.33 billion in net assets, 104-108 holdings, a 0.35% expense ratio, and top holdings including CVS Health (3.5%), Paramount Skydance (2.9%), General Motors (2.9%), Ford Motor (2.8%), and Archer-Daniels-Midland (2.5%), provides concentrated exposure to large-cap value sectors such as financials (18.5%), health care (17.4%), consumer staples (15.2%), and energy (10.1%). Launched on March 1, 2006, under initial management by Security Investors LLC (a Guggenheim entity), RPV underwent a significant reorganization on April 6, 2018, when Invesco acquired Guggenheim's ETF business and assumed management, reflecting performance data from the predecessor fund. The fund lists on NYSE Arca, targets U.S. investors seeking pure value strategies within developed market equities, and maintains a portfolio weighted toward mid- to large-cap stocks with low valuations (P/E ratio of 13.46, P/B ratio of 1.71). Invesco Ltd., the issuer headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, and founded in 1935 (with roots tracing to Investment Counsel, Inc.), operates globally across 20+ countries, managing over $2 trillion in assets through diverse products including ETFs under the PowerShares brand; it has no noted parent company. Recent major developments for Invesco include a April 2025 agreement to repurchase $1 billion of preferred stock from MassMutual, funded by debt and potentially extending to the remaining $3 billion, alongside a new strategic product and distribution partnership with Barings; additionally, a December 8, 2025, partnership with LGT Capital Partners to develop multi-alternative private markets solutions in private equity, credit, infrastructure, and secondaries for U.S. retail and retirement investors. No specific recent changes, such as new launches or reorganizations, were reported for RPV itself within the last 1-2 years.
