Business
Metalúrgica Riosulense S.A. (RIO) manufactures high-precision engine components and automotive parts through casting of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and advanced machining processes in Brazil. Founded in 1946 and headquartered in Rio do Sul, Santa Catarina, the company produces camshafts, valve tappets, rocker arms, pistons, cylinder liners, piston rings, crankshaft rings, valve guides, valve seats, engine valves, valve springs, injector sleeves, combustion pre-chambers, reamers, chassis brackets, adapters, carters, connections, manifolds, pulleys, wheel hubs, water pumps, bearings, bearing covers, and hydraulic tappets; it serves light vehicles, utility vehicles, trucks, agricultural machinery, motorcycles, railway, and marine transportation applications for original equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket. The company exports to over 25 countries across Latin America and globally, employs approximately 900-1,000 people, and holds certifications including IATF 16949:2016, ISO 14001, and AD2000. In 2019, Metalúrgica Riosulense shortened its name to RIO and underwent a brand rebranding while inaugurating a Prototype Factory with 3D printing technology; recent achievements include the 2020 partnership with Wirklich for high-performance plastic injections, 2021 Santa Catarina Innovation Award win and Great Place to Work certification, 2022 AGCO Best Supplier recognition, 2023 John Deere DEI Award, and 2024 MWM Supplier Excellence in Development Award.
