Shikun & Binui Energy Ltd (SBEN.TA), Israel's leading independent power producer (IPP) and a subsidiary of Shikun & Binui Ltd, develops, finances, constructs, operates and maintains power generation plants based on solar photovoltaic including storage systems, natural gas, hydro, thermo-solar, wind and energy storage (BESS) technologies; key projects encompass revenue-generating assets totaling 3.1 GW such as Ashalim, Tze’elim, Nevatim, Gilboa Pumped Storage, Etgal, Tidhar and Netiv Ha’asara in Israel, Brazoria and Saticoy in the US, and Satu Mare in Romania, alongside a portfolio of approximately 6.2 GW in assets and a development pipeline exceeding 3 GW across natural gas and renewables. The company, founded in 1924 and headquartered in Airport City, Israel, with additional headquarters in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida (US), Bucharest (Romania) and operations in Italy, targets utility-scale and commercial customers in the independent power generation sector. Recent developments include commercial operation of Etgal, Tidhar and Netiv Ha’asara projects; grid connection of the Satu Mare photovoltaic plant and financial closing for the Simleu Silvaniei solar project in Romania; securing a EUR 49 million loan for a 101-MW solar project in Romania; obtaining building permits for Urim solar-plus-storage and winning tenders for solar-storage along the Trans-Israel Highway and with Israel Land Authority; expansion of the solar portfolio through acquisitions of multiple projects under development in Italy including Grosseto, Gavorrano, Casciana Terme and Collesalvetti in Tuscany, Sassari in Sardinia and Roccastrada; entry into the Romanian market via acquisition of development pipelines; completion of acquisitions such as Hagit (Orot Pnina) and Ramat Hovav (Orot Yosef) projects; and advancement of battery storage at the Tidhar site alongside a 376-MW wind farm investment in Romania's Dobrogea region.
