SCA organizes its activities across five segments—Forest, Wood, Pulp, Containerboard and Renewable Energy—supported by sourcing and logistics operations, serving building material trades, packaging manufacturers, pulp buyers and energy markets primarily in Sweden, Europe including the UK and Germany, the United States, North Africa, Asia and other international regions. Founded on November 27, 1929 and headquartered in Sundsvall, Sweden, SCA employs approximately 3,450 people and reported net sales of SEK 20.2 billion for 2024. In recent developments, SCA commissioned a new CTMP mill at Ortviken and a new paper machine at Obbola to enhance pulp and containerboard competitiveness; it continues operations at the Gothenburg biorefinery for advanced liquid biofuels, invests in wind power projects on its land and launched the fossil-free icebreaking tug M/S Drake in October 2025 to support port logistics in Sundsvall.
