- Seshasayee Paper and Boards Limited (SPB), the flagship company of the SPB-ESVIN Group headquartered in Chennai, India, manufactures and sells printing & writing paper, paperboards, and pulp; its core products include branded writing/printing papers such as Sprint, SPD, Color Sprint, and Success, alongside multi-layer boards and fine papers produced from integrated pulp mills using hardwood, bagasse, and de-inked waste paper. Incorporated in 1960 with mills in Pallipalayam (Erode District, Namakkal) and Tirunelveli (both Tamil Nadu), SPB operates across India with a consolidated production capacity exceeding 240,000 tonnes per annum of paper and paperboards, plus over 150,000 tonnes of in-house pulp following multiple mill development plans. The company serves domestic markets focused on writing, printing, packaging, and premium board segments through systematic production from chemical recovery, wood/bagasse pulping, and upgraded paper machines. In recent developments, SPB completed Mill Development Plan-III (MDP-III) in its Erode unit at a cost of Rs288 crore, boosting paper capacity to 165,000 tonnes and pulp to 154,000 tonnes while entering the multi-layer boards segment; it acquired Servalakshmi Paper Limited's assets (Unit-III, 75,000 tonnes fine paper capacity) via NCLT-approved e-auction near Tirunelveli, acquired and turned around prior sick units like Subburaj Papers, and partnered with Zelestra Corporacion (Spain) for 61.8MW hybrid solar-wind power facilities.
