Business
Horizon Managed Risk ETF is an actively managed exchange-traded fund launched in 2025 and managed by Horizon Investments, LLC, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, that seeks to capture the majority of U.S. large-cap equity market returns while mitigating downside risk through its proprietary Risk Assist® strategy. The fund invests primarily in U.S. equity securities, including common stocks; it may also allocate to real estate investment trusts, American Depositary Receipts representing non-U.S. companies, other investment companies, U.S. Treasury securities, cash equivalents, and options, including broad-based index options and FLEX Options, as part of its risk-management and income-oriented approach. The ETF is designed for investors seeking equity-market participation with downside mitigation and may shift exposure between equities and defensive instruments depending on market conditions; it is listed on Cboe BZX and charges a 0.77% annual expense ratio. Horizon Investments was founded in 1995 and serves financial advisors and their clients through investment solutions, portfolio strategies, and related technology-enabled services, primarily in the United States. Recent developments include the March 2026 update to the fund’s prospectus, the firm’s completed acquisition of Anfield Capital Management in June 2026 to expand fixed-income and OCIO capabilities, and the earlier closing of its acquisition of Centre Asset Management in April 2025, which broadened Horizon’s investment solution suite and added a New York presence.
