- Signal Gold Inc. (TSX: SGNL) operates as a gold mining, development and exploration company focused on projects in the top-tier Canadian mining jurisdictions of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland; its core assets include a 100% interest in the Goldboro Gold Project covering approximately 27,200 hectares located 175 kilometers northeast of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which features probable mineral reserves of 1,150,200 ounces of gold across open-pit East and West deposits; the fully-permitted Point Rousse Project in the Baie Verte Mining District, Newfoundland, encompassing the Pine Cove Mill, tailings facility, deep-water port, Stog’er Tight and Argyle deposits; and the Tilt Cove gold-copper project spanning about 19,450 hectares in Newfoundland. The Goldboro Project, supported by a 2022 feasibility study, outlines an 11-year mine life with average annual production of 100,000 ounces of gold from a 4,000 tonnes per day processing facility using gravity and carbon-in-pulp technology, alongside infrastructure such as a tailings management facility, waste rock storage areas, water treatment plant and power supply from Nova Scotia Power. Incorporated in 1994 and headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, the company targets gold production and exploration across its consolidated land package exceeding 60,000 hectares in the Goldboro Gold District and Baie Verte region, employing 16 people under CEO Kevin Bullock. In December 2024, Signal Gold completed a business combination with NexGold Mining Corp. through a court-approved plan of arrangement, under which NexGold acquired all outstanding Signal Gold shares in exchange for 0.1244 NexGold shares per share, creating a combined entity with two cornerstone near-term gold development projects including the Goliath Gold Complex and Goldboro; the transaction involved issuing approximately 31.9 million NexGold shares to former Signal shareholders, restructuring debt with a new US$12 million Nebari facility secured against both projects, and delisting Signal shares from the TSX and OTCQB effective December 16, 2024.
