Science in Sport plc (SiS) develops, manufactures and markets sports nutrition products for professional athletes, sports enthusiasts and the active lifestyle community. The company operates through the Science in Sport and PhD Nutrition brands; Science in Sport offers energy products including bars, gels, powders and shots, hydration products such as gels, tablets and powders, recovery powders, and vitamins and supplements focused on immune function, digestive health and bone health; PhD Nutrition provides diet protein products, Smart high-protein low-sugar items comprising food, bars and snacks including Smart bar and Smart protein powder, Life products such as Reset nighttime formula, Mind product and Complete plant-based meal solution, and Performance supplements. SiS sells through scienceinsport.com and PhD.com digital platforms, third-party online sites, supermarkets, high street chains and specialist sports retailers in the United Kingdom, the United States, Europe and internationally. Founded in 1992 and headquartered in London with manufacturing in Blackburn, Lancashire, the company supplies over 330 professional teams and national teams worldwide, including more than 150 football clubs in the UK, Europe and the USA. In 2025, SiS agreed to a cash acquisition by Einstein Bidco Limited, backed by funds advised by bd-capital Partners, through a scheme of arrangement; shareholders approved the transaction, marking bd-capital's first UK public-to-private deal and enabling accelerated global growth leveraging the firm's operator-led model.
