iShares Trust - iShares Factors US Mid Blend Style ETF (STMB) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the investment results of an index composed of U.S. mid-capitalization stocks exhibiting favorable exposure to targeted style factors, including value, quality, momentum, size, and low volatility; the fund generally invests at least 90% of its assets in the component securities of the Russell US Mid Cap Factors Blend Style Index or investments that provide similar economic exposure. It provides investors with diversified exposure to mid-cap blend equities selected based on a multifactor methodology, holding approximately 393 securities with assets under management of around $9 million as of late 2025. The ETF trades on national securities exchanges and targets institutional and retail investors seeking factor-based strategies in the U.S. equity mid-cap segment. iShares Trust, organized as a Delaware statutory trust in 1999 and managed by BlackRock, Inc., serves as the issuer for STMB and numerous other iShares ETFs; BlackRock, headquartered in New York, acquired the iShares business from Barclays Global Investors in 2009, establishing it as one of the world's largest ETF providers with operations across the United States and global markets. STMB launched on April 14, 2020, as part of iShares' suite of factor-based equity products designed for tactical and long-term portfolio allocation. In recent developments, iShares listed STMB among closed funds on its official updates page, signaling its liquidation as part of BlackRock's ongoing portfolio rationalization to align offerings with client demand and evolving market needs; this follows a pattern of closures for low-AUM factor ETFs, with STMB's last trading activity noted around August 2021 and assets remaining minimal thereafter. BlackRock has undertaken broader strategic shifts, including the planned acquisition of HPS Investment Partners announced in December 2024 for $12 billion to expand private markets capabilities, expected to close in mid-2025, and multiple ETF reclassifications and benchmark updates in 2025 to streamline the product lineup. These changes reflect iShares' focus on high-conviction, scalable strategies amid record U.S. ETF inflows exceeding $1.3 trillion in 2025.
