Business
Tarsons Products Limited is a leading manufacturer and supplier of advanced plastic laboratory products primarily serving the life sciences industry. The company produces a comprehensive range of core products including disposable plastic labware, centrifuge ware, cryo labware, tissue culture ware, liquid handling systems such as pipette tips and microtips, biohazard and safetyware, clinical and microbiology labware, and related laboratory instruments. Tarsons operates a diversified portfolio spanning over 1,700 SKUs across approximately 300 product categories designed for use in molecular biology, cell culture, genomics, proteomics, immunology, and biopharmaceutical research environments. Founded over four decades ago and headquartered in Kolkata, India, Tarsons distributes its products extensively across India and internationally. In a major strategic expansion during the last two years, Tarsons completed the acquisition of the Hamburg-based Nerbe group, including Nerbe R&D GmbH and Nerbe plus GmbH & Co. KG, through its wholly owned subsidiary Tarsons Life Science Pte Ltd, effective January 1, 2024. This acquisition significantly enhances Tarsons’ international market penetration, especially in Europe, and expands its product line to include specialized plastic consumables for life science laboratories. The company is also developing infrastructure by acquiring 6 acres of land at Amta to establish a fulfillment center, radiation facility, and to scale manufacturing capabilities. Tarsons aims to leverage this expanded operational capacity and international footprint to increase exports to approximately 120 countries over the coming decade, underscoring its strategic shift towards global growth. It remains backed by ADV Partners, a global private equity firm. Tarsons Products Limited remains focused on innovation and research and development to customize labware to precise scientific needs, maintaining a strong pan-India distribution network supported by a dedicated sales force. The company continues to emphasize quality, creativity, and service in delivering laboratory solutions geared to improve the accuracy and efficiency of scientific exploration and research. Its broad geographies of operation now include India, Europe, and markets targeted for expansion globally, positioning it as a pivotal supplier within the labware and life sciences consumables segment.
