The fund invests primarily in a globally diversified portfolio of income-producing securities, including at least 80% of its net assets in such instruments and at least 50% in common stocks; its holdings encompass U.S. and non-U.S. stocks (approximately 23% U.S. and 57% non-U.S.), bonds, cash equivalents, and other assets across sectors such as financials, communication services, information technology, health care, utilities, and energy. As of late 2025, the fund maintains total assets of approximately $17.2 billion, 334 holdings, a net expense ratio of 0.93%, a 30-day SEC yield of 2.74%, and a Morningstar category classification of Global Moderately Aggressive Allocation.
Thornburg Investment Management, the fund's adviser, was founded in 1982 by Garrett Thornburg and is headquartered at 2300 North Ridgetop Road in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with additional offices in London and Hong Kong to support its global operations serving institutions, financial professionals, and investors worldwide. The firm oversees around $50 billion in client assets as of mid-2025 and offers a range of products including mutual funds like TIBIX (incepted November 3, 2003), closed-end funds, ETFs, separate accounts, and UCITS funds targeting income-focused and equity strategies.
In recent developments, Thornburg has expanded its offerings through the launch of its first active ETFs in January 2025, including Thornburg International Equity ETF (TXUE) and Thornburg International Growth ETF (TXUG), followed by fixed income ETFs such as Thornburg Core Plus Bond ETF (TPLS) and Thornburg Multi Sector Bond ETF (TMB) in February 2025. The firm formed a private credit joint venture with Bow River Capital in September 2024, expected to close in Q4 2024, to provide financing solutions for lower- and middle-market businesses, and enhanced its UCITS range in 2025 by reclassifying funds to Article 8 under SFDR, reducing management fees, and repositioning the Investment Income Builder Fund (UCITS) as the Thornburg Equity Income Builder Fund. Additionally, Thornburg partnered with Capital Strategies Partners in October 2025 to broaden distribution of its UCITS funds, including equity income strategies akin to TIBIX, to institutional and wholesale investors in Italy and the Middle East.
