Titan Petrochemicals Group Limited (TIPGF) is an investment holding company primarily engaged in shipbuilding, ship repairing, and steel structure manufacturing; commodity trading of petroleum, petrochemicals, and related products; and related downstream oil services including end-to-end oil sourcing, transportation, storage, and wholesale distribution. The company operates principally through its shipbuilding, ship repairing, and steel structure manufacturing segment, which encompasses construction and repair of ships as well as fabrication of steel structures for bridges and other infrastructure, and its commodity trading segment focused on bulk commodities in oil and petrochemicals. It maintains operations in the Asia Pacific region, particularly in China through facilities such as Quanzhou Shipyard—the largest multi-functional shipyard in the region—and Zhoushan Yatai Shipyard, where it holds a 46% equity interest; targeting markets in the People's Republic of China and other Asian countries.
Incorporated in 1998 and headquartered in Wan Chai, Hong Kong, the company, formerly known as Titan (Holdings) Limited, changed its name to Titan Petrochemicals Group Limited in May 2004 to reflect its strategic shift toward petrochemicals and related activities.
In recent years, the company has faced significant challenges, including trading suspension on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since April 2021 due to failure to publish financial results and resume compliance with listing rules; delisting of its shares (stock code: 1192) effective August 23, 2023; ongoing financial difficulties with loss-making operations in shipbuilding subsidiaries reporting segment losses exceeding RMB200 million in recent annual periods; liquidation proceedings involving key units like its oil storage operations; and uncertain viability as an ongoing concern without concrete plans for funding, debt restructuring, or business resumption as of the latest regulatory reviews.
