Business
Tarkett S.A. (TKTT:PAR; TKFTF:US) manufactures and sells flooring and sports surface solutions worldwide for commercial and residential end-users; the Group offers vinyl flooring including homogeneous and heterogeneous varieties, linoleum, carpet, wood and laminate flooring, rubber flooring and accessories, artificial turf, athletic tracks, and indoor sports flooring across segments such as healthcare, education, workplace, hospitality, housing, retail, and sports venues. Headquartered in Paris La Défense, France, and founded in 1886 through Swedish predecessors with the modern entity formed in 1997 via the merger of Sommer-Allibert and Tarkett AG, the company operates 35 production sites, 12,000 employees, and sales in more than 100 countries with key regions including Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), North America, CIS, Asia-Pacific (APAC), and Latin America. Tarkett maintains a subsidiary relationship with Société Investissement Deconinck as a major shareholder alongside Tarkett Participation, which completed a public buy-out offer in June 2025 increasing its stake to 97.11% of capital. In recent developments, the Group executed strategic acquisitions in its Sports surfaces division including Classic Turf & Tracks and Benchmark Contracting in 2024, Precision Construction and Contracting in December 2024, Mid-Atlantic group and Deluxe Athletics in the first half of 2025 to enhance North American market coverage and product portfolio; it also disposed of distribution activities in California in July 2024, consolidated logistics platforms in North America, closed a resilient flooring plant in the United Kingdom, and advanced its impacT 2027 strategic plan emphasizing innovation, sustainability via Cradle to Cradle principles, and circular economy initiatives targeting carbon neutrality by 2030 alongside Human-Conscious Design approaches. For the first half of 2025 ended June 30, Tarkett reported net sales of EUR 1,573.5 million, up 0.9% with organic growth of -0.2%, and adjusted EBITDA of EUR 154.9 million or 9.8% of sales reflecting productivity gains offsetting wage inflation and selective price adjustments amid sluggish demand.
