- IRPC Public Company Limited is a Thailand-based integrated petrochemical company engaged primarily in the petroleum and petrochemical business. Founded in 1978 and headquartered in Rayong, Thailand, IRPC operates a fully integrated petrochemical complex in Southeast Asia with facilities including a refinery, power plant, deep-sea port, and tank farm. Its main products and services encompass petroleum products such as various refined oils, diesel, gasoline, lube base oil, and fuel oil; petrochemical products including polymers (polypropylene, polyethylene, expandable polystyrene), olefins, aromatics, and plastic resins; lubricants; asphalt; and other petrochemical derivatives. The company also provides power generation and distribution, industrial water and air systems, wastewater treatment, port and tank farm services, asset management based on empty land plots, and ancillary businesses like the manufacture and sale of non-woven fabric products and medical consumables, fertilizer production and distribution, and oil vessel rental. IRPC operates not only in Thailand but also maintains business activities in Singapore and other international markets.
In the last 1-2 years, IRPC has undertaken strategic initiatives including the expansion of its floating solar power plant capacity by 8.5 MW, enhancing refinery and petrochemical production efficiency through flexible operational optimization, and increasing the specialty product portion from 22% in 2022 to 33% in 2023. It completed a major refinery turnaround in late 2022 and resumed normal operations, while navigating challenges from a decelerated global economy impacting market gross integrated margins. The company emphasizes sustainability with commitments toward carbon neutrality by 2050 and a circular economy approach, developing recycled plastic products and advanced coatings for industrial applications. IRPC also announced leadership changes effective October 2024 and has maintained strong operational and financial ties with its parent group, PTT, securing crude oil procurement and credit facility support. It continues to expand distribution channels and invest in digitalization and organizational transformation to support long-term growth and efficiency.
IRPC operates through its three main business segments: Petroleum Products, Petrochemical Products, and Other Businesses, targeting manufacturers, converters of plastic resins, industrial customers, and utility service consumers across Southeast Asia and beyond. The company’s integrated operations and infrastructure enable it to offer a comprehensive array of material and energy solutions, positioning IRPC as a key player in Thailand’s energy and chemical industry landscape.
