Innovator Hedged TSLA Strategy ETF (TSLH) is an actively managed exchange-traded fund that seeks to provide exposure to the price return of Tesla, Inc. (TSLA) stock up to an annual cap, while offering downside protection against approximately 10% losses over each quarterly outcome period (approximately three months), through a portfolio of FLEX Options referencing TSLA and U.S. Treasury Bills. The fund allocates roughly 90% to short-term U.S. Treasury Bills in its Treasury Portfolio for stability and 10% to FLEX call options in its Options Portfolio to capture TSLA upside potential subject to the cap, with outcomes resetting quarterly upon rebalancing; it does not invest directly in TSLA shares and targets institutional and retail investors seeking buffered single-stock exposure amid TSLA's high volatility. Launched on July 26, 2022, and sponsored by Innovator Capital Management, LLC, headquartered in Wheaton, Illinois, TSLH operated within the defined outcome ETF segment, focusing on the U.S. automotive and electric vehicle sector via TSLA linkage. In September 2024, Innovator announced the closure and liquidation of TSLH, with trading ceasing on October 1, 2024, and final distributions completed shortly thereafter, marking a significant strategic contraction in its single-stock hedged ETF offerings due to factors including low assets under management. This followed no major partnerships, funding rounds, or expansions specific to TSLH in the prior two years, though Innovator as a firm underwent transformative changes in late 2025, including Goldman Sachs' agreement to acquire it for approximately $2 billion in cash and equity, expected to close in Q2 2026 pending regulatory approval, integrating Innovator's defined outcome ETF platform—over $22 billion in assets across 60+ strategies—into Goldman Sachs Asset Management's ETF and third-party wealth units. The acquisition enhances Goldman Sachs' active ETF capabilities, with Innovator's leadership, including CEO Bruce Bond and CIO Graham Day, joining the firm, while TSLH's prior operations remain delisted and non-operational. Geographically, the fund traded exclusively on U.S. exchanges like Cboe BZX, serving North American investors through standard brokerage platforms.
