Business
Saigon Passenger Transport Joint Stock Company (Saigonbus) is a Vietnam-based public transportation and passenger mobility provider primarily engaged in the operation of urban transit networks, interprovincial coach services, and comprehensive automotive support solutions. The company operates across several core business segments, providing services that include urban and suburban fixed-route public bus transportation across Ho Chi Minh City and adjoining metropolitan provinces; interprovincial scheduled passenger transport connecting major economic and tourism hubs in southern and central Vietnam; contract passenger carriage and chartered vehicle rentals for corporate commuting, educational institutions, and tourism delegations; domestic travel and tour operations; automotive maintenance, mechanical repair, and vehicle technical inspection services; retail distribution of petroleum, lubricants, and compressed natural gas (CNG) through dedicated fueling facilities; and commercial terminal operations and transit advertising. Originally established in 1975 as a state-owned passenger enterprise affiliated with the Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation (SAMCO) group before completing its equitization, the company is headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. In recent operational developments, Saigonbus has accelerated its green mobility transition by expanding its fleet of compressed natural gas (CNG) and low-emission vehicles in alignment with municipal environmental mandates, implemented automated fare collection and contactless smart ticketing systems across its urban bus lines, restructured and optimized route networks to serve as feeder connections for the Ho Chi Minh City urban rail transit system, and integrated advanced GPS-enabled fleet dispatch and telematics systems to improve route reliability and operational efficiency.
