Business
Cao Bang Cast Iron & Steel JSC (UPCoM: CBI) is a Vietnam-based industrial manufacturer primarily engaged in iron ore mining, mineral beneficiation, and the production of cast iron and steel billets. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Cao Bang City, Cao Bang Province, Vietnam, the company operates as a metallurgical subsidiary of Vinacomin - Minerals Holding Corporation (VIMICO). Cao Bang Cast Iron & Steel JSC operates an integrated iron and steel production complex supplied by domestic mineral reserves, primarily the Na Rua iron ore mine, serving steel rolling mills, foundries, and construction material producers across Vietnam. The company operates through three principal business divisions: Mining and Mineral Beneficiation, Iron Smelting, and Steel Billet Manufacturing. Its product and service portfolio includes: processed iron ore concentrates and sintered ore; foundry pig iron and basic steelmaking pig iron; continuous-cast square steel billets for rebar, wire rod, and structural steel manufacturing; granulated blast furnace slag and aggregate by-products utilized in blended cement production; industrial scrap and recovered metal derivatives; and technical maintenance, engineering overhaul, and machinery installation services for metallurgical processing equipment. In recent developments, Cao Bang Cast Iron & Steel JSC has focused on operational optimization and environmental modernization across its production lines, implementing waste-heat recovery systems and upgrading blast furnace emission-control filters to enhance energy efficiency. To maintain stable feedstock supply, the company has executed technical upgrades at the Na Rua mining site to optimize raw ore processing capacity and resource recovery. In addition, Cao Bang Cast Iron & Steel JSC has expanded commercial off-take partnerships with regional cement manufacturers for blast furnace slag monetization and aligned its domestic sales strategy with member entities under the parent corporation to improve supply chain resilience against steel price volatility.
