Business
Sai Gon Port Stevedoring and Service Joint Stock Company (UPCoM: SAC), widely known as SASTECO, is a Vietnam-based maritime logistics and port services company that provides comprehensive cargo handling, warehousing, and marine support operations. Tracing its origins to the establishment of the Saigon Port Stevedoring and Services Enterprise in August 2008 and formally equitized into a joint stock company in October 2010, the company is headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and operates as a key service subsidiary under Saigon Port Joint Stock Company within the Vietnam Maritime Corporation network. The company operates primarily across port terminals, wharves, and riverfront logistics hubs in Ho Chi Minh City and Southern Vietnam, serving domestic and international shipping lines, cargo owners, and trading enterprises. The company organizes its core operations into five main service categories: cargo stevedoring and handling services, encompassing the loading, discharging, tallying, and transshipment of bulk agricultural commodities such as rice, coffee, grain, and animal feed, as well as industrial goods including cement, clinker, steel products, fertilizer, and general breakbulk cargo with an aggregate operational handling capacity exceeding 11 million metric tons per year; packaging and cargo processing services, including automated and manual bagging, bulk-to-bag conversions, strapping, shrink-wrapping, container stuffing and destuffing, and palletizing; warehousing, storage, and yard management services, comprising open storage yards, covered transit warehouses, bonded storage leasing, inventory management, and cargo consolidation; specialized equipment rental services, providing harbor mobile cranes, wheel loaders, reach stackers, forklifts, dump trucks, conveyor systems, and mechanical grabs; and marine auxiliary and multimodal freight services, covering vessel provisioning, ship supply, fresh water replenishment, mooring assistance, domestic river and sea barging, and customs clearance support. In recent developments, Sai Gon Port Stevedoring and Service Joint Stock Company has executed targeted capital expenditure and procurement programs across 2025 and 2026 to modernize its mechanical handling fleet and replace aging yard machinery with energy-efficient equipment to raise loading productivity and reduce turnaround times. The company has also been engaged in corporate governance realignment as its major shareholder, Saigon Port Joint Stock Company, initiated capital restructuring and divestment plans across select affiliate entities to reallocate financial resources toward large-scale regional development initiatives, including the Saigon Port - Hiep Phuoc expansion and the Can Gio International Transshipment Port project. In addition, the company continues to optimize its port operations through digitized tallying and operational scheduling systems while sustaining consistent operational performance and regular cash dividend distributions to shareholders.
