Business
Thai Nguyen Non Ferous Metals Joint Stock Co is a Vietnam-based mining and metallurgy company primarily engaged in the exploration, extraction, mineral processing, smelting, and distribution of non-ferrous and precious metals. Founded in 1980 and headquartered in Thai Nguyen, Vietnam, the company operates as a key operating subsidiary of Minerals Holding Corporation - Vimico under the state-owned Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin). The company structures its business across geological exploration, open-pit and underground mining, non-ferrous smelting, and chemical manufacturing. Its primary product offerings include refined zinc ingots; high-grade zinc oxide (ZnO) powders for rubber, ceramic, and chemical manufacturing; refined lead ingots; zinc and lead flotation concentrates; refined tin; gold and silver byproducts; iron ore; sulfuric acid (H2SO4) recovered from roasting off-gases; and assorted industrial mineral aggregates. The company operates major extraction and processing assets across northern Vietnam, notably the Lang Hit lead-zinc mine in Thai Nguyen Province, the Ban Thi mining complex in Bac Kan Province, and the Song Cong Zinc Electrolysis Plant. Its products are distributed to domestic industrial clients and international export markets across Asia, serving hot-dip galvanizing facilities, lead-acid battery producers, electronics manufacturers, and chemical synthesis plants. In recent developments, the company has advanced technical modernizations across its Song Cong zinc electrolytic refinery to increase metal recovery yields, lower power consumption, and elevate high-purity cathode output. Furthermore, the company has completed upgrades to its environmental control infrastructure, including modernized off-gas desulfurization systems, closed-circuit industrial wastewater recycling, and reinforced tailings storage facilities across its primary mining sites, alongside expanded deep-level exploration to secure sustainable ore reserves for its smelting operations.
