BrandywineGLOBAL - U.S. Fixed Income ETF (USFI) is an actively managed exchange-traded fund that seeks total return through investment in U.S. investment-grade fixed income securities, including debt issued or guaranteed by the U.S. government, U.S. corporate bonds, mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities, and related derivatives and instruments; the fund maintains at least 80% of its net assets in such U.S. fixed income holdings, employing a top-down macroeconomic analysis combined with bottom-up fundamental research to drive sector allocation, duration decisions, and security selection. Brandywine Global, the fund's investment adviser and a specialist fixed income manager within Franklin Resources, Inc. (operating as Franklin Templeton), pursues defensive alpha with flexible duration management, risk mitigation relative to equities and spread sectors, and holdings typically concentrated in fewer than 50 securities compared to broader benchmarks like the Bloomberg U.S. Aggregate Index. Launched on July 25, 2023, and listed on Nasdaq, the ETF pays monthly distributions and had total net assets of approximately $13.7 million as of late 2025, with key sector allocations including government sovereign (71%), mortgage-backed securities (19%), corporate bonds (7%), and cash equivalents (2%).
The fund is managed by a team at Brandywine Global including Anujeet Sareen, Brian L. Kloss, Jack P. McIntyre, and Tracy Chen, who have overseen the strategy since inception. USFI represents Brandywine Global's first U.S.-domiciled fixed income ETF and expands Franklin Templeton's active fixed income ETF lineup, which totals 13 offerings as of its 2023 launch, following the prior conversion of a Brandywine mutual fund into the BrandywineGLOBAL - Dynamic U.S. Large Cap Value ETF (DVAL) in 2022. No major acquisitions, funding rounds, partnerships, or strategic shifts have been announced for USFI since its inception through December 2025.
