- First Trust Exchange-Traded Fund VIII – FT Vest U.S. Equity Uncapped Accelerator ETF – April is a non-diversified, actively managed exchange-traded fund that seeks to provide investors with the potential for returns, before fees and expenses, that exceed the positive price return of the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust when specified performance thresholds are met during its annual April target-outcome period. The fund principally invests substantially all of its assets in customized Flexible Exchange Options (FLEX Options) referencing the price performance of the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust; it provides U.S. large-cap equity market exposure with an uncapped accelerated-upside profile after an upfront target-upside deductible, while generally exposing investors to losses when the reference ETF declines. The fund’s portfolio strategy consists primarily of exchange-traded FLEX Options, cash and cash equivalents, and other instruments used to implement its defined-outcome investment strategy; it does not provide downside protection against losses in the underlying reference ETF. The fund is designed for investors seeking defined, annually reset equity-outcome exposure and is marketed in the United States through the First Trust and FT Vest target-outcome ETF platform. First Trust Advisors L.P. serves as investment adviser and Vest Financial LLC serves as sub-adviser. The fund commenced operations on April 17, 2025, and is part of First Trust Exchange-Traded Fund VIII, a Delaware statutory trust managed from the First Trust organization’s headquarters in Wheaton, Illinois.
