Business
Villeroy & Boch AG manufactures premium ceramic sanitary ware, bathroom furniture, and lifestyle products; its core offerings span the Bathroom & Wellness division, encompassing ceramic washbasins, toilets including DirectFlush and shower toilets such as ViClean-I, bathtubs, shower trays, whirlpools, shower partitions, fittings, accessories, saunas, spa facilities, and kitchen sinks; and the Dining & Lifestyle division, featuring tableware, dinnerware, gift items, and food service products. Founded in 1748 and headquartered in Mettlach, Germany, the company operates production sites across eight European countries and Thailand, sells its brands in over 125 countries worldwide, and targets consumer, retail, trade, project, hospitality, and contract markets including architects, planners, and interior designers. In February 2024, Villeroy & Boch completed its largest-ever acquisition by purchasing all operating companies of the Ideal Standard Group for approximately €600 million, doubling Bathroom & Wellness division revenue to around €1.4 billion in 2024 and driving group revenues to a record €1.42 billion with improved operating EBIT; the integration created synergies through unified strategy, optimized structure, and complementary brands and channels. In 2025, the company divested its Gustavsberg and Vatette businesses to Oras Group, refining its Northern European sanitary fittings portfolio. The firm marked its 275th anniversary in 2023 and maintains a strong balance sheet with substantial net liquidity and unutilized credit facilities.
