Volvo Car AB (publ.) designs, develops, manufactures, markets and sells premium automobiles worldwide, with a focus on safety, electrification and sustainability. The company offers battery electric vehicles including the EX90 SUV, EX30 compact SUV, EX40, EC40 and upcoming ES90 sedan and EX60; plug-in hybrids such as the XC90, XC60 and V60; mild hybrids like the XC40, S60, V90 Cross Country and V60 Cross Country; and internal combustion engine models; across SUVs, estates, saloons and MPVs including the EM90 electric minivan. It also provides vehicle parts, accessories, maintenance contracts, extended warranties, connectivity services and in-car software. Volvo Car AB (publ.) operates manufacturing facilities in Sweden, Belgium, China, the United States and other regions, targeting retail customers, fleets and premium segments through a global dealer network. Founded in 1927 and headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, the company is a subsidiary of Geely Sweden Holdings AB. Recent developments include the issuance of a EUR 500 million green bond in 2025 to fund electric vehicle programs and sustainability initiatives; plans to launch five new or refreshed models in 2025 such as the ES90 electric sedan, EX30 Cross Country, a long-range plug-in hybrid for China and updates to existing lines like the XC60; expansion of EX30 production to Ghent, Belgium; major upgrades to the 2026 EX90 with an 800-volt architecture; the reappointment of Hakan Samuelsson as CEO in April 2025; efforts to acquire Northvolt's stake in the NOVO battery joint venture; and the sale of its 30% stake in Lynk & Co to Zeekr in late 2024.
