Dynamic Short Short-Term Volatility Futures ETF (WEIX) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks investment exposure to an actively managed portfolio of short positions in futures contracts with monthly expirations based on the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX Futures Contracts); primarily shorts the next two near-term VIX Futures Contracts while rolling the nearest month contract to the next month on a daily basis; and employs a dynamic algorithm to adjust short exposure to the S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures Index, increasing it as the VIX rises and decreasing it as the VIX falls to mitigate risks of traditional short VIX strategies. Sponsored and managed by Dynamic Shares LLC, an affiliate of ARB Trading Group, the non-diversified fund trades on the Cboe BZX Exchange and targets investors seeking low correlation to equity indices with potential capital preservation in volatile markets; it holds a concentrated portfolio typically comprising two holdings; and distributes through Capital Investment Group, Inc. Launched on January 13, 2022 and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the ETF operates in the U.S. public equity and derivatives markets, focusing on large-cap volatile stocks via short volatility futures strategies without direct geographic expansions beyond U.S. exchanges. In a significant recent development, Dynamic Shares LLC announced the liquidation of WEIX in December 2024, with creation of new shares ceasing prior to market open on December 23, 2024, trading halting before market open on December 30, 2024, and final distributions to shareholders occurring on that date, marking the ETF's wind-down after approximately three years of operation. No other major partnerships, acquisitions, funding rounds, or new product launches involving WEIX were reported in the last 1-2 years.
