WisdomTree U.S. High Yield Corporate Bond Fund (ticker: QHY, formerly WFHY) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance, before fees and expenses, of the WisdomTree U.S. High Yield Corporate Bond Index. The fund provides targeted exposure to select issuers in the U.S. non-investment grade (high yield or junk bond) corporate bond market, emphasizing bonds with favorable fundamental characteristics and attractive income opportunities; it employs a multi-step, rules-based methodology that screens for strong fundamentals and then applies an income tilt to weight constituents, focusing on U.S. dollar-denominated corporate bonds issued by public companies domiciled in the United States with fixed coupons, at least $500 million par amount outstanding, remaining maturity of one year or more, and non-investment grade ratings from at least one major agency. Key portfolio attributes as of July 2025 include a weighted average coupon of 5.83%, average years to maturity of 5.60, effective duration of 3.32, average yield to maturity of 6.48%, and sector allocations led by media (12.95%), energy (12.66%), and healthcare (11.31%); credit quality distribution features BB-rated bonds at 50.93%, B-rated at 25.67%, BBB at 13.24%, CCC at 5.92%, and cash at 4.24%. Launched on April 27, 2016 and managed by WisdomTree, Inc., the fund is headquartered in New York and operates primarily in the U.S. fixed income market, serving investors seeking income-generating alternatives to traditional market-cap weighted or actively managed high yield strategies. In a significant recent development, the fund underwent a ticker symbol change from WFHY to QHY effective July 8, 2024, without any alteration to its name, investment objective, or strategy. The underlying WisdomTree U.S. High Yield Corporate Bond Index, formerly known as the WisdomTree Fundamental U.S. High Yield Corporate Bond Index, continues to support semi-annual rebalancing with issuer and single-bond exposure caps at 2% and 0.50%, respectively. While the fund itself has maintained its core focus, WisdomTree as the sponsor has pursued broader strategic expansions, including the July 2025 announcement and October 2025 completion of the acquisition of Ceres Partners, LLC for $275 million in cash plus up to $225 million earnout to enter U.S. farmland private markets; launches of multiple tokenized funds on platforms like Plume blockchain (October 2025) and WisdomTree Prime/Connect, such as the Equity Premium Income Digital Fund (EPXC, December 2025) and Private Credit and Alternative Income Digital Fund (CRDT, September 2025); and a partnership with BNY for banking-as-a-service infrastructure to enhance tokenized real-world asset access.
