Columbia EM Core ex-China ETF (XCEM) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks investment results corresponding to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the Beta Thematic Emerging Markets ex-China Index. The fund provides broad equity exposure to emerging markets companies, excluding those domiciled in or listed in China or Hong Kong, by targeting up to 700 predominantly large- and mid-cap stocks across sectors including information technology (31.7%), financials (27.1%), industrials (8.7%), and communication services (6.0%); top holdings feature Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (14.3%), Samsung Electronics (3.5%), HDFC Bank (2.1%), and ICICI Bank (2.1%), with key country allocations to Taiwan (30.8%), India (18.0%), South Korea (11.3%), and Saudi Arabia (7.1%). Launched on September 2, 2015, and managed by Columbia Threadneedle Investments, a global asset manager headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, with operations across the United States, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, XCEM holds approximately 330 securities, maintains a net expense ratio of 0.16%, and focuses on institutional and retail investors seeking diversified emerging markets access while mitigating China-specific risks. In September 2025, the fund marked its 10-year anniversary, celebrating a four-star Morningstar rating, over $1.1 billion in assets under management, and top 16% performance ranking in the U.S. Diversified Emerging Markets category over five years, underscoring sustained investor demand amid geopolitical tensions. No recent acquisitions, funding rounds, partnerships, or structural changes have been reported for XCEM, which continues to track its index via a representative sampling approach with quarterly rebalancing.
