Zalando has pursued an ecosystem strategy since March 2024 to build a comprehensive pan-European fashion and lifestyle platform with dual B2C and B2B growth vectors, including a successful strategic combination with ABOUT YOU Holding SE completed in July 2025 through which it acquired 91.45% of the latter's share capital and plans a squeeze-out of remaining shareholders, targeting annual Group EBIT synergies of around 100 million euros via collaborations in logistics, payments, B2B software and commercial operations while maintaining distinct brand identities.
Recent expansions encompass market entries into Portugal, Greece and Bulgaria in 2025, marking the first international growth since 2022; rollout of the updated Zalando Plus loyalty program to additional countries; nationwide launch of its beauty category in Spain; and progression of its Inspiration and Entertainment mission with an AI-powered discovery feed now live in 22 markets (expanding to 16 more) featuring personalized content, shoppable videos, livestreams and creator boards, alongside new public customer profiles enabling users to save, follow and share style preferences across all markets.
