Business
2G Energy AG, founded in 1995 and headquartered in Heek, Germany, is a leading international manufacturer of decentralized energy supply systems, including highly efficient combined heat and power (CHP) plants with electrical outputs from 20 kW to 4,500 kW fueled by natural gas, biogas, hydrogen, sewage gas, landfill gas and other lean gases; large heat pumps from the afilia series in the range of 100 kW to 2,600 kW offering efficiencies of 300 to 500 percent; Gas2Power peak-load gensets with outputs of 500 kW or more for emergency and continuous operation; and comprehensive service solutions encompassing planning, installation, maintenance, repair, spare parts, digital grid integration and plant control. The company serves diverse customers such as farmers, municipalities, housing industry, commercial enterprises, medium and large industry, energy suppliers and data centers across more than 50 countries, with operations supported by over 900 employees at its German headquarters and subsidiaries in North America and six European locations. Recent developments include the 2023 acquisition of Dutch heat pump manufacturer NRGTEQ to bolster its large heat pump portfolio and full-service offerings; a strategic partnership with CK Power announced in August 2025 to launch demand response generator products in North America; accelerated entry into the data center market via a new dedicated business unit; expansion of heat pump sales into additional EU countries from 2026; construction of a new production hall in Heek; and upward adjustment of its 2025 financial forecast amid strong half-year performance with output up 28% to EUR 193 million, driven by trends in grid congestion, biomass CHP incentives and Gas2Power demand.
