- INA-Industrija nafte d.d. is an integrated oil and gas company headquartered in Zagreb, Croatia, operating as a key subsidiary within the MOL Group and co-owned with the Republic of Croatia. Founded in 1964, the company engages in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas, the refining and processing of petroleum products, the manufacturing of industrial lubricants and specialty chemicals, and the wholesale and retail marketing of transport fuels and consumer goods across Central and Southeastern Europe.
The company operates across three primary business segments: Exploration and Production (Upstream), Refining and Marketing (Downstream), and Consumer Services and Retail. In its downstream and manufacturing operations, INA produces and supplies a comprehensive portfolio of refined petroleum products and industrial goods, including high-octane motor gasolines marketed under the Eurosuper 95, Eurosuper 95 Class Plus Expert, and Eurosuper 100 Class Plus Expert brands; transport and off-road diesel fuels sold under the Eurodiesel and Eurodiesel Class Plus Expert lines; aviation turbine fuels, including Jet A-1; maritime gas oils and heavy marine bunker fuels; heating oils and extra-light fuel oils; liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) distributed under the Propan-Butan brand for household, industrial, and autogas applications; polymer and road bitumens; base oils; and an extensive range of automotive lubricants, engine oils, transmission fluids, industrial greases, and chemical functional fluids formulated and packaged through its INA Maziva subsidiary under the INA Delta, INA Super, and INA Millennium trade names.
INA manages oil and gas extraction concessions across the Pannonian basin and northern Adriatic offshore fields in Croatia, alongside international upstream exploration and production assets in Egypt. The company delivers natural gas and crude feedstock through integrated processing facilities, including the Molve gas processing plant, and distributes refined products across domestic and regional commercial markets, servicing industrial enterprises, transportation carriers, utility operators, and agricultural customers. Its consumer retail network encompasses more than 500 filling stations located throughout Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina through subsidiaries Holdina and Energopetrol, Slovenia, and Montenegro. In addition to transport fuels and LPG cylinder distribution, retail locations provide non-fuel consumer services, featuring Fresh Corner gastro and coffee outlets, automotive washing facilities, commercial fleet payment and fuel card management solutions via INA Card, and electric vehicle charging points.
In recent operational developments, INA has advanced significant capital upgrade and energy transition initiatives across its downstream infrastructure. The company is completing the multi-million euro Rijeka Refinery Upgrade Project, centered on the construction of a new Delayed Coking Unit (DCU), associated processing facilities, and harbor logistics infrastructure designed to eliminate heavy fuel oil output and substantially increase light distillate production yields of diesel and motor fuels. As part of the industrial transformation of its former refining site in Sisak, INA has shifted operations toward clean energy and sustainable logistics, commissioning commercial-scale solar photovoltaic power plants in Sisak and Virje, initiating a 10-megawatt green hydrogen production plant project supported by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, and securing geothermal exploration licenses in northern Croatia to develop renewable thermal and electricity generation assets. Furthermore, the company continues the strategic expansion of its retail network modernization, integrating advanced fast-charging electric mobility corridors and digital loyalty platforms across its core Southeastern European footprint.
