Sempio Company (007540.KS), formerly Sempio Foods Company, operates as a Korea-based holding company primarily engaged in the manufacture and sale of fermented food products and related consumer goods; its portfolio encompasses soy sauces including traditional and seasoning varieties, jang pastes such as doenjang, gochujang and ssamjang, Yondu umami seasoning, Korean BBQ sauces, cooking and dipping sauces, dressings, pickling solutions, instant curry, yogurt lassi powder, naan mix, Asian rice noodles, tea and tea bags like corn tassel and buckwheat varieties, vinegars, fruit and vegetable juices, fresh and instant noodles, side dishes, ready-to-cook items, canned fruits, sesame and perilla oils, toasted sesame seeds, sea salt, white corn syrup, red pepper powder, seasoning powders, dried seafood products, chilled and frozen fishcakes, dumplings, naengmyun, fried rice, batter mixes, and tinned specialty foods; the company maintains specialized production facilities including the Icheon Plant for soy sauce with 78,000kl annual capacity, Youngdong Plant for pastes and beef jerky with 10,080 tons capacity, Jochiwon Plant for teas at 2,382 tons, and Yangpo Plant for canned goods, supported by the Sempio Fermentation Research Center and Culinary Research Center in Cheongju; founded in 1946 as Korea's oldest registered trademark in soy sauce, Sempio Company is headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, with branch offices in the United States, China, and Spain, and exports to over 76 countries worldwide targeting consumer and foodservice markets in Asia, North America, Europe, and beyond; recent developments include ongoing investments in R&D comprising 5% of sales for fermentation technologies and natural flavor innovations such as SavorU and SavorK umami enhancers, maintenance of SQF-certified quality standards, and participation in global events like Fi Europe 2025 to expand B2B ingredient offerings.
