Business
Carnival Corporation & plc operates as the world's largest cruise company, offering leisure travel services through a portfolio of nine distinct cruise line brands including AIDA Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line, Carnival Australia, Costa Cruises, Cunard, Holland America Line, P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises and Seabourn; these brands collectively operate a fleet of more than 90 ships serving diverse customer segments from contemporary mass-market vacationers to premium and ultra-luxury travelers with itineraries visiting over 800 ports in North America, Europe, Australia, Asia and other global regions. Founded in 1972 with the establishment of Carnival Cruise Line and headquartered in Doral, Florida, with Carnival plc based in Southampton, England, the dual-listed company (NYSE: CCL; LSE: 0EV1) provides cruise vacations featuring a range of onboard experiences such as five-star dining, entertainment, enrichment programs, all-suite accommodations and destination-focused excursions, complemented by private islands including Celebration Key, Half Moon Cay, Princess Cays and Amber Cove. The company maintains operations through six independent units overseeing brand groups: Carnival Cruise Line (including Australia and White Pass and Yukon Route), Carnival Maritime (AIDA and Costa), Carnival UK (Cunard and P&O), Holland America Group (Holland America and Seabourn) and Princess Cruises. Recent developments include a July 2024 agreement with Fincantieri for three LNG-powered mega-ships of approximately 230,000 gross tonnes for Carnival Cruise Line, slated for delivery in 2029, 2031 and 2033, marking the largest vessels ever built by an Italian shipyard; a May 2025 announcement to relocate its North American headquarters from Doral to a new campus in Miami-Dade County's Waterford Business District by 2028; a June 2023 corporate restructuring into the aforementioned brand units with full executive autonomy; the absorption of P&O Cruises Australia into Carnival Cruise Line in 2025; and the 2023 divestiture of its interest in Adora Cruises.
