Business
Metsä Board Oyj specializes in the production and supply of premium fresh fibre paperboards and market pulp. The company offers a range of high-quality folding boxboards, food service boards, and white kraftliners, which are crafted from renewable and traceable northern wood fibre. These sustainable materials are utilized across various applications including packaging for beauty care, beverages, food, consumer electronics, and healthcare products, as well as for graphical uses and e-commerce. Operating globally, Metsä Board serves brand owners, packaging converters, corrugated product manufacturers, and merchants in markets spanning Europe, North America, and Asia. As a key entity within Metsä Group, the company leverages an integrated value chain and emphasizes innovation and sustainability, aiming for entirely fossil-free mills and raw materials by 2030. Recent initiatives include a strategic collaboration with Amcor to advance recyclable 3D moulded fibre packaging for food and continuous enhancements to its paperboard products, such as the MetsäBoard Classic FBB. The company, headquartered in Espoo, Finland, was established in 1986 and rebranded from M-real Corporation to Metsä Board Oyj in 2012.
