Kansai Paint Co., Ltd. manufactures and sells a comprehensive range of paints and coatings; designs, manufactures, and sells coating equipment; controls and undertakes painting works; designs color schemes; and produces products in biotechnology and electronics fields. The company offers decorative coatings for buildings that combine functionality and aesthetics; protective coatings for bridges, power equipment, industrial plants, and infrastructure; automotive refinish coatings including eco-friendly waterborne products and Takata Quantum Series; industrial coatings for construction equipment, machinery, metallic products, beverage cans, and precoated metals; marine coatings with antifouling agents for fish nets; and automotive OEM coatings for body, plastic parts, and aluminum wheels serving major automakers. Kansai Paint operates across five segments including Japan, India, Asia, Africa, and Europe, with target markets encompassing residential and commercial buildings, automotive OEM and refinish, industrial infrastructure, marine applications, and specialty sectors; the company maintains global subsidiaries such as Kansai Nerolac Paints Limited in India, Kansai Helios Coatings GmbH in Europe, Kansai Plascon in Africa, and various entities in Asia including China, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Founded in 1918 and headquartered on the 28th floor of Osaka Umeda Twin Towers South in Osaka, Japan, Kansai Paint employs 17,414 consolidated staff as of March 31, 2025, and reports consolidated net sales of 588,825 million yen. Recent developments include the May 2024 acquisition of WEILBURGER Coatings by European subsidiary Kansai Helios Coatings GmbH, enhancing industrial coatings capabilities with support from Mitsui & Co., Ltd.; the February 2023 acquisition of CWS Group in powder coatings and synthetic resins by the same subsidiary; head office relocation to Umeda and Shin-Osaka in December 2023; reorganization of the powder coatings business into KANSAI Powder Coatings Co., Ltd. in December 2022; and a leadership transition at Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd. with Managing Director Pravin Chaudhari appointed effective April 1, 2025, following Anuj Jain's retirement.
