TPR Co., Ltd. manufactures and sells engine components and automotive parts primarily for powertrains worldwide. The company produces piston rings, cylinder liners including its proprietary AZLOC cast-wrap liners, sintered products such as valve seats and valve guides, seal rings encompassing sintered/steel and resin varieties, and carbon scraper rings; it also offers automotive exterior parts like radiator grilles, millimeter wave radar covers, moldings, and roof rails; aluminum products including brake drums and shock absorber components such as strut bearings and base valve cases; electrical and electronic parts comprising illuminated radiator grilles and telematics communication units; as well as advanced materials like carbon nanotubes and nanoporous materials, temperature control valves, special copper alloys, precision measuring machines, home equipment including double-glazed window frames and toilet seat heaters, and life-related services in construction, caregiving, insurance, and industrial waste processing. TPR operates through a global network spanning six regions—Japan, China, Asia, North America, South America, and Europe—with 58 group companies including key subsidiaries like Faltec Co., Ltd. for resin products and joint ventures such as Anqing TP Goetze Piston Ring Co., Ltd. in China; it serves diverse customers ranging from vehicle and EV manufacturers to construction machinery producers and serves markets in Japan, Asia, North America, and internationally. Founded in 1939 as Tanaka Piston Ring Co., Ltd. and formerly known as Teikoku Piston Ring Co., Ltd. until its name change in 2011, TPR is headquartered at the 10th Floor, Shinmarunouchi Center Building, 1-6-2 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan. Recent developments include the establishment in March 2024 of TPR ARN MFG. Mexico, S.A. de C.V., a joint venture with a Chinese partner in Guanajuato, Mexico, to produce EV-related parts, alongside ongoing expansions in rubber/resin products, nanomaterials, and frontier fields supporting CASE technologies and automotive exteriors.
