Business
Accell Group N.V. (ACGPF) designs, manufactures and markets bicycles, bicycle parts and accessories, serving as the European market leader in e-bikes and the second-largest provider of bicycle parts and accessories. The company offers a broad portfolio of premium bicycle brands including Haibike, Winora, Ghost, Batavus, Koga, Lapierre, Raleigh, Sparta, Babboe and Carqon, covering trekking, town, mountain, children's, racing and cargo bikes; it also provides parts and accessories under the XLC brand. Products target mid-range and higher market segments, sold primarily through specialized retailers to consumers in more than 80 countries, with key revenue from the Netherlands, Germany and other European markets. Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Heerenveen, Netherlands, Accell Group employs approximately 3,700 people across 15 countries and operates in the recreational products industry. In recent developments, the company completed a major recapitalisation in early 2025, reducing debt by around €600 million to €800 million, injecting €235 million in new cash and extending debt maturities to 2030 through agreements with shareholders, creditors and banks. It advances a transformation program by shifting the Heerenveen site to design, engineering and support functions while phasing out manufacturing by end-Q1 2026; appointed Mohammed Hassan as CFO in 2025 and Jonas Nilsson as CEO; and launched new models such as the Koga EF3 e-bike and Winora Sinus FS while optimizing production and inventory across its integrated European platform.
