- Dana Gas PJSC is an independent natural gas exploration, production, processing, and transportation company operating in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, the company is listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and operates across the upstream and midstream segments of the energy industry, primarily serving government entities, utility operators, industrial off-takers, and domestic power generation facilities.
The company operates through three principal business segments: Exploration and Production, Natural Gas Processing and Transmission, and Gas Liquids Extraction. Its comprehensive product and service portfolio comprises:
Upstream Hydrocarbon Production: exploration, appraisal, and commercial extraction of conventional natural gas; field development and well maintenance operations; and production of light sweet crude oil and petroleum condensates.
Natural Gas Processing and Distribution: processing, treating, and sweetening of raw natural gas; pipeline transmission and wholesale distribution of dry sales natural gas utilized for domestic electricity generation and regional grid supply; and operation of centralized gas treatment plants, including the Khor Mor processing complex in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the El Wastani gas plant in the Nile Delta of Egypt.
Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) and By-Products: extraction, fractionation, and bulk supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) comprising commercial-grade propane and butane mixes for domestic and industrial consumption; production and storage of stabilized hydrocarbon condensates for refinery feedstock; and distribution of specialized industrial fuels and petrochemical feedstocks.
Midstream and Joint Venture Operations: development, ownership, and technical management of gas gathering networks, compression stations, and trunkline pipeline infrastructure, executed independently and through its 35% equity interest in Pearl Petroleum Company Limited alongside international consortium partners.
Geographically, Dana Gas conducts core upstream and processing operations across the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) and onshore Nile Delta development leases in Egypt, alongside corporate and midstream assets in the United Arab Emirates.
In recent operational and strategic developments, Dana Gas successfully commissioned the KM250 expansion project at the Khor Mor field in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, increasing gas processing capacity by 250 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscf/d) to reach a total capacity of 750 MMscf/d, alongside the ongoing rollout of a new common-user gas transmission pipeline. In Egypt, the company consolidated 13 development leases into the unified New El Manzala Concession Agreement with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), initiating a multi-year 100 million dollar investment program focused on drilling, workovers, and deep-horizon reserve enhancement that returned its Egyptian assets to positive production growth. Furthermore, Dana Gas resolved historical financial overhangs by securing the full settlement of outstanding receivables from Egyptian government entities, strengthening liquidity to support expanded capital investment across its core operational footprint.
